If I see one thing fall off that trailer, I’ m calling the highway patrol. Sorry, not sorry. I take the time to follow the law in regards to securing my cargo and I got no time for people who don’t think it applies to them.

Killjoy.

Exactly. I’d do the same.

One thing I see a lot of on the highways of NE Alabama (which is one of the national hotbeds of chop shops and rural shenanigans) is a single vehicle towing two others in a train configuration. I wish I had a pic of it, but I’m always white-knuckling it to get past them.
And if you’re thinking “Oh, like an HD pickup who doesn’t own a car carrier trailer”....no. I t’s usually something like a Rav-4 towing another Rav-4 and then a CR-V in the back.
They spray paint “in tow” on the very back as if that makes them invisible to cops.

Exactly. This is the most selfish and negligent thing you can possible do. I don’t like our lawsuit happy society, but this dumbass right here would deserve to be sued into oblivion.

Oh yeah and don’t worry they removed the bumper
covers and chained them together for safety.

No, I’m pretty sure they invested $2,500 in a Hensley Arrow between each vehicle to help manage sway and keep the towed vehicles in line and under control. They strike me as those kind of safety-minded folks :D

That, and the whole “Not responsible for broken windshields.” Bullshit. Yes, you are. It’s just very hard to prove it without a dash cam.

That is a very common sight on I-35 heading south towards Mexico. You send five guys in one car north to Dallas a nd you can bring back nine other cars. And that’s if they’re only towing one each.

In my experience it’s usually three Geo Metros with the bumper covers removed, with haphazardly welded towing configurations between each

Found the guy whose ladder I ran over.

Those are usually headed to Mexico. I see a lot of that on US 59 around here.

At risk of sounding like a profiler, yes - the majority of these “trains” are Latino men (which is not an uncommon sight in NE AL due, in part, to all the seasonal ag work and chicken processing plants )

Same when I lived in Louisiana. One time I sa
w a couple Mexican dudes driving
a box truck
which was barely big enough to get the front wheels of the car inside it
into (they couldn't shut the door because the front bumper was sticking out) with two more cars being flat towed behind it.

Once I was in a drive though at Arby’s and I got out to shut the tailgate of the truck in front of me. It was full of laundry bins, and boxes. The guy paid for my food as a thank you.

Had a motorcyclists near me killed when a gas cylinder fell off a truck and hit him.
